Climb the Steps

14 x 18

Inspired by traditional portrayals of Helen of Troy, Climb the Steps discusses the constant evolution of beauty standards, making the ultimate bar forever out of reach. The endless climb to reach these standards, symbolized through the staircase, reaches towards the figure staring at herself in the mirror to represent the constant critique of one's looks, and the detrimental impact of unrealistic expectations that ultimately lead to further dissatisfaction.
