Three Graces

11 x 14

Inspired by Botticelli’s depiction of the mythical women representing beauty, grace, and charm, “Three Graces” twists their traditional portrayal, discussing how women often do not support each other, despite the need for support. Using hyacinths and maples, the bold colors and lines all point directly to the three women grappling with each other. Their anger is at odds with the brightly colored environment, symbolizing the need for support instead of conflict.
